Computer and website protection insurance
ComputerGuardPlus insurance provides cover for computer hardware and software against all risks such as fire, theft, flood and accidental damage. Additionally ComputerGuardPlus provides a comprehensive range of additional covers for computer network security related losses.
The policy is a "claims occurred" policy. This means that it covers claims that occur during the period of the policy and any circumstance, which may give rise to a claim that occurs during the period of the policy.
The cover is provided subject to certain limitations, exclusions, and deductibles applying. A summary of the cover available during the policy period can be found in the following table:
The policy covers loss or damage to computer hardware and software resulting from any accidental cause and cover is provided for:
- Damage to computers owned, on deferred purchase, lease, hired or rented to the Insured at the Insured's Premises.
- Losses during temporary removal of this equipment to any location in the World including losses during transit.
- Losses for items of portable computer equipment anywhere in the World including during transit.
- Additional expenditure, up to the limit requested, if the business is interrupted or interfered with as a result of loss or damage to computer equipment.
- The additional expenditure cover includes losses due to failure of or damage to the Insured's computer network security through such things as a targeted virus attack; denial of service attack; computer hacking; phishing; spam email attacks or other similar malicious attacks on the computer network security.
- Losses that occur where there is no sign of violent and forcible entry to the premises.
- Theft losses when the items are left unattended in restaurants, bars etc and also from unattended cars during the day if the car is locked and the computers are stored out of sight.
- Loss of data up to a limit of 10% of the value of the computer equipment.
